10 best buys for a Jubilee party
Celebrate the Platinum Jubilee in style, with our top buys for a royal knees-up
The countdown is on – we’re getting the bunting out at The Royal List, for our Platinum Jubilee party. To get you in the spirit, we’ve been scouring the shops for our top buys, from decorations to crockery, cakes to clothes. Check these out and keep an eye on our Facebook and Insta pages for more.
First up, get out the bunting, especially if you are having a street party. We love this Emma Bridgewater bunting, £7, daisypark.co.uk.
Next come the table decorations and we think these Ginger Ray gold crown Jubilee paper napkins are just the thing to jazz up the tea table, £4.49, gingerray.co.uk.
We can’t resist posh crockery and it was love at first sight with this amazing hand-made Jubilee Collection from Jayne Redmond. It’s a limited-edition set and includes plates, £18 and the beautiful Jubilee cake stand, £65, which Kerry really wants, but wonders if she really needs three cake stands, jayneredmond.co.uk.
What kind of party would it be without cake? Just like the cake stand above, it was game over when we saw these beautiful floral brownies from Blushing Cook with edible flowers and bespoke design by illustrator Emma Block. Available for delivery from Tuesday until June 1, from £36. Alternatively, we also like the look of this smash cake, from £21.99, sweettreebybrowns.co.uk.
Virgin Wines has brought out an English sparkling with East Sussex vineyard, Henners, to create 500 limited-edition bottles, carrying the official Jubilee emblem. There’s a gift box version for £39.99, virginwines.co.uk.
We love this vintage-style special-edition tin from Royal Warrant holder Cadbury’s Roses, £6.59. It’s a keeper. The Royal List can confirm we’ve already eaten all of ours, except the orange creams…
Most high street stores are doing some cute Jubilee kidswear. We love this pretty Jubilee dress from Next, from £6. Sadly, it doesn’t come in adult size.
8. Nail polish
What does come in adult size, though, is this red, white and blue set of Mavala nail polish, £14.95, nailpolishdirect.co.uk.
9. Tea towel
Clean up in style, with an official Platinum Jubilee tea towel from Buckingham Palace, £8.95, royalcollectionshop.co.uk.
OK, so we know you don’t strictly need a toaster for a Jubilee party, but how else are you going to toast your crumpets? Smeg toaster, £189.95.
