Kate and Charlotte dazzle at Trooping
The family turned out in style for the King’s Birthday Parade
Beneath a brilliant blue sky, the Princess of Wales dazzled alongside Charles and Camilla at Trooping the Colour on Saturday. Taking to the dias on Horse Guards Parade, Catherine looked chic in an aquamarine dress coat by Catherine Walker with contrasting ivory lapels and cuffs. Wearing earrings that belonged to Queen Elizabeth, her Irish Guards regimental brooch and a hat by Juliette Botterill she looked effortlessly cool in the heat.
Like other royal commentators, the Telegraph was struck by the similarities to the other Princess of Wales. Pointing out that Catherine’s look was “strikingly similar to the one Diana wore for Trooping the Colour in 1988 - a green and white-trim dress also made by Catherine Walker, one of the late Princess’s favourite designers”.
Princess Charlotte echoed her mother in a dress in a paler shade of turquoise-blue. Her horseshoe brooch, which once belonged to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, was a gift from Her Late Majesty The Queen. The Duchess of Edinburgh wore a Beulah dress and a pillbox hat by Jane Taylor, both in shades of emerald. Camilla, meanwhile, wore white, in a silk crepe dress with silver embroidery by Anna Valentine and a Philip Treacy hat.
Charles, along with William, Edward and Anne who were on horseback, wore black armbands in honour of those killed in the Air India disaster. Charles had requested a minute’s silence to be observed at Horse Guards Parade. It was also the first time that Anne, has ridden in public since being admitted to intensive care in June last year with concussion and head injuries believed to have been caused by one of her own horses.
But there were some lighter moments provided by, of course, Prince Louis, who beamed throughout the procession, and made his big brother George laugh. On the balcony, he waved vigorously to the crowds for the famous flypast and gave another wave before heading back inside. The royal family’s cutest little trooper!
Can Wills turn the eco tide?
King Midas wanted to hold back the waves, but Prince William is trying to turn back the tide of climate change. This week he chatted to Sir David Attenborough for World Oceans Day and attended the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco. “The ocean sustains life, regulates our climate, and feeds billions, but it’s under threat. Solutions exist, and action is urgent,” he posted. Back in the UK, he announced The Duchy of Cornwall’s new vision for Dartmoor – from farming to nature, wildlife and local communites.
Catherine steals the show
On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales visited the newly-opened V&A East Storehouse in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This incredible space is an interactive storehouse, so visitors can access items the V&A usually stores behind the scenes. With 600,000 artefacts, you can Order an Object to view. Catherine, who attended with members of the public, simply because she really wanted to see it, ordered a musical instrument, William Morris fabric and “items relating to nature”, according to The Telegraph. “What an opportunity for everyone to see these historic pieces. It’s so eclectic. And all parts of the process of displaying and curating,” she said. Admission is free, visit vam.ac.uk
Strictly thrilling Birthday honours
Congratulations to everyone recognised in the King’s special Birthday Honours list. Among the 1,200 people on the list, and joining David Beckham as a knight of the realm is Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman, plus we get new dames too, the amazing Elaine Paige and the ceramicist Emma Bridgewater - we love her mugs!
Strictly Come Dancing hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly were both awarded an MBE for services to broadcasting. We reckon Camilla will be very happy with that decision. “I am ridiculously lucky and will celebrate with Tess by doing a paso doble,” Claudia said.
Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham posted, “You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir David Beckham!!! What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you.”

Bunnies, shoes and loo roll - the King’s winning businesses
We’re unabashed (pun intended) Jellycat bunny fans at The Royal List, so we couldn’t go without mentioning our favourite bunny business received an award from the King, this week at an event in Windsor Castle. The King’s Award for Enterprise honoured UK businesses for innovation, international trade and sustainable development. As well as Jellycat, 2025 winners included Sole Bliss – makers of Camilla’s favourite comfy footwear - Guernsey Glamping, Cornwall’s Lost Gardens of Heligan and Naked Paper eco-loo roll.
Gorgeous!
